Code of Conduct

Welcome to Sonpark Shopping Centre and the Sonpark Boulevard — a privately owned
shopping centre and privately owned road.

This property is managed for the benefit, safety, and comfort of all visitors. In order to maintain a
safe, welcoming, and family-friendly environment, we ask that all visitors respect the following
rules. Violations may lead to removal from the property.

Right of access reserved.

Private Property & Admission Rights

  • Sonpark Shopping Centre is private property with a private road, known as the Sonpark Boulevard
  • Management reserves the right to refuse entry or request any person to leave whose conduct, appearance, or behavior is deemed inappropriate.
  • Trespassers will be asked to leave immediately.
  • K9 units and security guards are on site to support security and enforcement of these rules.

Dress & Appearance

To maintain a respectful, family-oriented environment, visitors are expected to dress modestly at all times.

  • No revealing or indecent clothing. This includes: overly revealing crop tops, short skirts/shorts , see-through fabrics, clothing that exposes undergarments, or any attire considered overly provocative.
  • Shirts/tops and footwear must be worn in all public areas.
  • Clothing with off ensive, obscene, or hateful wording/images is not allowed.
  • For safety reasons, no face-coverings, helmets, or hoods that obscure identity (except religious headwear).

The interpretation and enforcement of this rule is at the sole discretion of the establishment’s management.


Visitors not complying with this rule may be asked to leave immediately.

Behavior , Respect & Decency

  • No aggressive, threatening, abusive, or violent behavior.
  • No harassment, intimidation, or unsociable behavior that causes discomfort to others.
  • No loud or boisterous behavior or disruptive conduct.
  • No loitering, begging, informal trading, or solicitation.

Alcohol, Smoking & Legal Compliance

  • Strictly no public consumption of alcohol in walkways, parking areas (out of vehicle boot) , or other open spaces — this is a violation of South African Liquor Law.
  • Alcohol may only be consumed within legally licensed premises.
  • Liquor purchased from the liquor store is strictly for home consumption only. It may not be opened or consumed in any area within the Sonpark Shopping Centre.
  • Smoking or vaping only in designated areas within premises (restaurants), if any.

Safety & Security

  • K9 units are on site – Wednesdays to Saturdays
  • Trespassers will be requested by the on-site security to leave immediately.
  • Weapons or dangerous items are strictly prohibited.
  • Children must be supervised by guardians.
  • Follow all instructions from staff and security.
  • CCTV is in operation throughout the boulevard.

Vehicles, Parking & Traffic Rules

  • Vehicles must be roadworthy, driven responsibly, with valid driver’s license.
  • No reckless driving, speeding, or dangerous maneuvers.
  • Parking only in designated bays. Incorrect parking may result in clamping or towing.
  • No prolonged sitting in vehicles in parking areas.
  • No loitering or gatherings in parking lots.
    – ❌ Taxis and minibus taxis are not permitted to stop or drop off public transport users in the Sonpark boulevard.
    -All public transport users must use designated public transport areas and walk to the shopping centre.

Additional Prohibitions

  • No unauthorized fi lming, commercial photography, busking, or events without prior written permission.
  • No disruptive items such as large speakers, sports balls, skateboards, rollerblades in walkways etc., unless approved.
  • No littering, vandalism, or damaging of property — off enders will be held responsible.
